(Update: The polls now work)
I had always wondered if my use of the social networking links at the bottom of each post was annoying. It’s from a WordPress plugin called “Sexy Bookmarks”. I can choose to have up to about 35 of the most popular social bookmarking sites linked on each post.
But do I really need 35? No… only about 20. Or maybe 15. Would a dozen be too many? My line of reasoning was that it would be nice to have someone share my prose. I decided to be nice in kind and make it easier to do so. I’ve already had a good bump from Digg (I don’t know if it was because someone used the link at the bottom of the post though).
I noticed that the RSS feeds were cluttered with a huge, long list of the same social bookmarks. Ewww.
“Oh well,” I shrugged and didn’t give it much more thought. However, it was recently brought to my attention that it was annoying (Thanks David Mackintosh of the Random Noise blog!). To which I agree.
Let’s put it to the test. Here are two polls that will close on Sunday the 7th at 11:59 PM. Let me know what you think and by next week the changes will be implemented.

Of course, this isn’t addressing the issue of “Which social media links do you want”, but I’ll burn that bridge when we get there. =)
And in a spasm of irony, here’s a bunch of social media bookmarks…
